The Nature-Connected Coaching (NCC) Certification is Earth-Based Institute's professional coach-training program: an ICF Level 2 accredited certification that trains you to coach with nature as the foundation of the method. You become a certified Nature-Connected Coach in roughly eight to twelve months of active coursework, and grow toward an ICF credential and a working practice over about two years including business mentoring. It is accredited by the International Coaching Federation and pairs coaching rigor with nature connection, a combination no other Level 2 program offers.

Two finish lines

The program has two finish lines. The first is certification as a Nature-Connected Coach, reached in roughly eight to twelve months of active coursework, with a completion window of about fourteen months that includes mentoring support.

The second is a credential-ready, working practice, reached over about two years total, including the business mentoring that helps you turn training into a livelihood.

So you are certified in under a year of active work, and you reach a credentialed practice on a roughly two-year horizon.

Is it accredited?

Yes. The program is ICF Level 2 accredited and delivers 315 accredited hours of training, against an ICF Level 2 minimum of 125. From there you pursue your own ICF credential: the ACC path asks for 100 coaching hours, which most reach within the roughly two-year window, and the PCC path asks for 500. The accredited education meets the ICF Level 2 education requirement either way. We never claim an automatic PCC, because no program can grant the credential without your own logged coaching and the ICF assessment.

How the program runs

The NCC certification runs as a live online cohort with weekly calls and self-paced work, at roughly five to eight hours a week, with two cohorts a year in spring and fall. There are no prerequisites beyond genuine interest and the desire to become a professional coach or guide. You do not need a prior degree, license, or credential to begin.

What makes it different

Across a scan of more than two dozen programs, no other training pairs ICF Level 2 accreditation with nature as the foundational pedagogy. Earth-Based Institute has trained Nature-Connected Coaches since 2008, and its place-based online model means you train in your own landscape rather than traveling to someone else's. Below this level of the market sit low-cost nature certificates that are not ICF-accredited at all. The NCC certification is the credentialed version of the path.

Who it's for

It is for people called to guide others in and through nature who want a grounded method and a recognized credential, whether their connection to nature arrived in a single vivid experience or built quietly over a lifetime. It is not built for someone who wants a paint-by-numbers certificate with no practice behind it, or a purely spiritual experience with no interest in the craft of coaching. The cohort does serious work together, and that is the point of it.
