NCC is a two-year program with wraparound support built in. During the first fourteen months you'll complete the full training curriculum and earn your NCC certification. You'll start working with clients in the first couple months, and most students are working with paid clients before certification. ICF mentor coaching and business coaching run alongside you from day one and continue through year two, so the support keeps going while you build your practice, not just while you're learning to coach. After graduation, you enter an alumni community you'll have for the rest of your career.
Over the course of Phase 1, you’ll immerse yourself in our complete coaching curriculum and graduate with your NCC certification in 14 months. Along the way, you’ll master nature immersion and awareness practices, develop deep listening and questioning skills, and learn how to apply neuroscience to your work.
Through experiential learning, you'll practice the theory you're learning in real time, get hands-on feedback, and be mentored by an experienced coach. You’ll also gain advanced tools like Gestalt Therapy, Trauma-Informed Coaching, Partswork, and approaches for supporting grief and loss, taught by leading experts. By the end of Phase 1, you’ll be certified and working with your first paid clients.

Once you earn your NCC certificate, you enter Phase 2: 10 months focused on completing your ICF credential and growing your coaching business. You'll move towards coaching skills mastery with our Mentor Coaching program. You’ll also really hone in on your business development by working 1-on-1 and in small groups with your business mentor to refine your niche, strengthen your marketing, and grow your coaching business.
As part of our NCC Alumni Community, you’ll also have lifelong access to a network of peers for collaboration, referrals, and continued learning. You’ll also have the opportunity to retake intensives at no cost, ensuring you remain current with evolving methods and maintain your edge as a nature-connected coach.
"Earning my ICF credential was a game changer for me in mastering the skills of coaching. The mentor coaching and alumni community gave me the structure and support I needed to grow my business while staying true to my values and my love of working in nature."
Justin Silver, PCC · NCC Graduate · Virginia, USA

Absolutely! We are 100% invested in you reaching your goals! We can't do it for you, but we will work hard to support you.
We are extremely proud of the business coaching and mentoring that is included in your tuition. We regularly update the program to meet the demands and changes in the field. If you are willing to work hard, follow our business development curriculum, and lean into all the coaching that is included, you will start generating clients.
While it is different for each person and their unique situation, generally, it can take 3+ years to grow your coaching practice into a sustainable size. Our business coaching starts on day 1 and continues for 2 years. Our goal during that time is to teach you the entrepreneurial skills you need to run your business, generate clients, and set you up for long-term success. From year 3 on you will find that our alumni community is super active and focused on supporting each other's growth.
EBI hosts regular alumni gatherings and accountability groups.
Yes! The NCC program is accredited as a Level 2 with the International Coaching Federation (ICF). ICF offers three levels of credentialing to coaches: ACC (Associate Certified Coach), PCC (Professional Certified Coach), and MCC (Master Certified Coach). Each level requires a certain amount of education hours, mentoring hours, as well as professional experience hours.
Our NCC program meets and exceeds all the standards for issuing PCC level certification and sets our students up for pursuing MCC.
Due to the amount of professional experience hours required for credentialing, most students achieve ACC level credentialing before the end of year 2.
These credentials are internationally recognized, which allows you to work with clients all over the world. The core competencies of Professional Coaching are the gold standard in the coaching field and can be applied into many modalities, including Nature-Connected Coaching.
Did you know that in January of 2023, there were over 1.5 million searches for a coach (i.e. life coach, business coach, wellness coach)? That is just one month of data. And, according to the Ask Method Company, 8 out of 10 businesses intend to hire a coach! The coaching industry is booming and credentialing is a way to stand out in the crowd.
NCC is a niche approach to coaching. Credentialing adds tremendous legitimacy to your practice and continues to strengthen the field of Professional Coaching as a whole.
Everything you need to obtain your ICF credential is included in your tuition. It will be up to you to cross that finish line, but we will be right next to you the whole way.
No experience is necessary! Our student community is diverse, ranging from career changers leaving fields like engineering to people who have experience in the healing arts and want trained in a professional, accredited coaching method.
To be successful in the program, you need to be willing to do the inner work that comes with a career shift and entrepreneurship, to have a growth mindset, devote yourself to the learning and practice, and be passionate about helping adults experience transformational changes in their life.
What we look for in applicants is a clear commitment to the work, a sense of why nature belongs in your professional practice, and the willingness to be a beginner where you need to be. The admissions interview is where we figure out fit together.
The Nature-Connected Coaching certification program takes place online. Now, we know that online nature connection sounds hypocritical, but hear us out:
This is an experiential program. Yes, you’ll participate in online, interactive training intensives that include peer practice, small group work, and whole group discussions. Then, you go practice in your local community.
Because we want you to learn, practice, and grow with the land where you live and work. We want you to deepen your relationship with Nature in the same place where you’ll be working with your future clients, not a place you visit once and then leave behind. And we bet you want that, too.
Everything you learn and experience with the land in your community, you get to bring back to debrief and integrate with your mentor, peers, and instructures in the online interactive learning platform.
So yes, it seems a bit contradictory at first. But when you zoom out and think about how you want to be working with clients, you can see the important role the local land needs to play in your development as a coach.
Plus, it makes the program more accessible and reduces the environmental impact of plane travel to in-person trainings, which we're all about.
