Katie Asmus, MA, LPC Licensed Professional Counselor , BMP, is a counselor, life coach, educator, mentor, workshop facilitator, and founder of NamastéHealing Arts Center, LLC, a multi-dimensional therapeutic and educationally-based organization incorporating Wilderness and Body-Centered Psychotherapies. Katie began working in outdoor experiential education in 1991, and during her Master Degree studies in Somatic Psychotherapy: Dance Movement Therapy she discovered opportunities to bridge the fields of Somatic and Wilderness Therapies, culminating in her MA thesis on Teaching Outdoor Adventure Educators to Recognize and work with Emotional Trauma through Body-centered Interventions.
She offers Somatic Trauma training in a variety of contexts around the world, and has been involved in Naropa University’s MA Wilderness Therapy program since its onset, as assistant director until 2008, and continues to teach classes as an adjunct faculty member. Katie has trained hundreds of students, therapists, educators and life coaches to collaborate with the natural world through her affiliations with

, Prescott College, Peak Experience, and outdoor leadership training seminars.
Throughout her career, Katie has led hundreds of experiential wilderness and nature-based programs—from a few hours up to 30 days—through organizations such as:
