Certification and Education Credits
Certification
Earth-Based Institute (EBI) offers two certifications for those drawn to a professional outdoor career:
- Our NCC program is approved by the International Coach Federation (ICF), the world’s largest coaching organization. Upon successful completion, graduates are qualified to become a Master Coach—the highest level of credential offered.
The Wilderness Quest is an ancient ritual found in nearly every culture. The rhythms, beauty, and harsh realities of the wilderness act as mirrors—reflecting deep truths about who we are. A critical aspect to the Quest is an awakening—The Call to Adventure—often an external or internal event that spurs an individual to action.
As response to that call, the Wilderness Quest can be a catalyst for great change—the perfect to answer meeting the challenges of major life transitions, such as:
- graduation
- loss
- changes in career or retirement
- relationship changes
- financial or health crises
- relocation
- depression or trauma
ICF offers the only globally recognized, independent credentialing program for coach practitioners.
What does certification mean for you?
For those seeking to use their EBI training to start or improve a nature-connected career, certification through ICF greatly enhances your professional credibility. EBI is committed to helping you reach your professional goals by offering programs that make you eligible for this important credentialing.
ICF requires certified coaches to renew their credentials every three years. Part of these renewal requirements includes 40 hours of Continuing Coach Education (CCE). ICF offers CCE units for all of our programs.
College Credit
EBI certification programs are accredited through Western State Colorado University (WSCU) for both undergraduate and graduate level credits. Twelve transferable credits will be added to your transcript at the end of the training.
Visit WSCU for more details or email the Extended Studies Program.
If you are enrolled in another institution, you will need to contact your school’s registrar to determine whether credits will transfer. Many EBI students have obtained credits by going through their professors and academic advisors.
